The foundation of PVR NEST’s CSR journey is rooted in efforts dedicated to safeguarding care and protection of children. Our early programs – Aanchal Childscapes - Care and Protection Centres (with North Delhi Municipal Corporation) and Child-Friendly Railway Stations - 24X7 Child Help Desks (with Indian Railways, Railway Protection Force and Child Welfare Committee) focused on providing holistic growth to children at risk and safe rescue & rehabilitation to lost, abandoned and runaway children.Through Aanchal
Childscapes, NEST provided education for social and cognitive development with nutritious meals for healthy growth to 1000+ children (6 months to 12 years old).
As per DCPCR, there are 70000+ children at risk in Delhi, including the runaways from other states, children working on the streets in the morning and returning to their slums or shelter at night, or living on the streets with their family. In the worst cases, these conditions have made many children susceptible toilliteracy, malnourishment, domestic violence, substance abuse, and crime.

Continuing such efforts, the new Care & Protection program, CiSS Childscapes is initiated with the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR), focused on identifying and rehabilitating children in street situations with assistance from the Salaam Baalak Trust and Youthreach as on-ground project partners.

Through CiSS Childscapes, we aspire to bridge the gaps of safety and protection of vulnerable children by providing them access to a safer environment with educational and vocational skill-building opportunities to alleviate them from the life of children in street situation, CiSS.
As of January 2023, we have identified 11 locations across Delhi/NCR as hotspots where Children are in Street Situations, and the rehabilitation process has been initiated for 433 children. NEST aims to rehabilitate 5000+ children in an year and amplify this program through networking with NGOs, NPOs, and governments to ensure the rehabilitation of the largest population of street children.
